OCEAN INSTITUTE'S

WATERSHED PROJECT​​

​

Students will learn about our watershed and how to keep it healthy. Using the scientific method, students will learn the different types of soils and the best ways for keeping contaminants out of our aquifer, which keeps the watershed healthy. With this knowledge, students will have the opportunity to share their findings at the Dana Point Ocean Institute Kid's Conference.

Colonial Period​

​

​students will be learning about the colonial period. They will study a colony and learn about the struggles the colonists endured when arriving to the new world. After the research is complete, students will bring their colonist to life by presenting the trials and tribulations

Huntington Library Partnership​​

​

Students at Rockdale willl have the opportunity to experience the Huntington Library, it's programs, and it's delightful staff.

 

Presidential Election

​

Last year, Rockdale students went to the polls to cast their votes for President. The fifth grade students learned about the Presidential candidates and chose a candidate that they thought would best represent the U.S. They campaigned hard and informed all students what they found to be the most promising characteristics a President should have.
